I agree, Nina. The introduction of Ethan was unforgivable. I hated the introduction of Nikolas for the same reason. Ethan could have been Robert's son that Luke took under his wing. There was no reason to tarnish Luke and LnL with that off-camera, fly in the face of history. Rewrites are almost always a disaster. As for Franco, I'll never understand the appeal of James Franco. He actually mocked soaps and GH. Thanks for nothing, James Franco. I have not been able to stand him since then. The character was unredeemable. Then they gave the name to Roger Howarth and made him lug around the corpse of that character like an albatross. They wanted to tie him into the canvas, so they gave him to Kin Shriner and cooked up a story of Heather and Scott. Honestly, I never liked Heather from way back. She was always a nut job, and evil lurked in her soul...as if Franco needed another liability. I'm convinced that FV does not know what he is doing. He put one soap to bed, and he will likely do that to GH. He doesn't know how to weave character-driven stories. He lacks vision. He thinks you can move characters around like checkers in order to serve his personal needs. He doesn't respect vets or his dedicated older fans. The show is a complete shadow of itself. The perfect indicator for me is that I don't care about any of the characters any more. So, something is severely lacking. When I review that memoriam of characters on this show when I loved it, I could weep. They don't create a Ruby Anderson any more. There is no humor from the likes of a Slick. There is no romance. It is just so sad. I wish we could reincarnate a Douglas Marland. I wish we had a producer who understood this genre.

: Of all the cockamamie retcons or whatever they

: It would have been totally logical had Holly
