Luke was on this show for 13 years without his angel. Plenty of people desperately wanted Genie back, and to have L&L be a regular, anchor couple on GH, but to no avail. However that didn't stop me from supporting Tony's right to have a job, and a career, independent of what happened with Genie. He deserved story, and he deserved for his character to have romantic pairings, which help characters stay viable on a soap canvas. He more then earned it. And he earned the right to do it without having to be saddled with a wig-Laura, or even worse, an awkward attempt at some Laura recast. I doubt he would've supported that. He knew that Laura is Genie Francis.
Genie deserves the exact same shot. She's earned it. Her place on this canvas should be set and secured, and supported, regardless of what Tony chooses to do.
And Laura doesn't need Luke. There were plenty of Laura/Scotty and Laura/Stefan fans, and yes, Laura/Kevin have a following too. Genie had strong chemistry with plenty of other leading men on other shows/films besides General Hospital. If she's paired with someone who she has chem with, and the writing is right, she will soar. There's no reason at all to recast Luke for her.
