I can see why you'd think it was all BS.
But there are a couple things that happened in this.
He acknowledges the backlash and says that the writers are working on a Laura story right now. I think if it was all just BS he wouldn't have expounded on that as much. He had no reason to admit the backlash, acknowledge that Genie has been underutilized, and somewhat put the writers on blast.
I'm not going to lie, I can see his point. From what you guys have been telling me, Laura hasn't had much story; Genie had decent guarantees, but hasn't had much story. From a financial POV that's a waste of money.
There may be more to this than we know. I want to hear Genie's side.
I wonder if they'll go back to hiring Genie on shorter contracts for Laura specific stories only.
