his podcast about Genie. I didn’t realize that
he has hated Frank for awhile.
BTW, I rewatched Laura and Kevin’s engagement
dinner again. Found it on my DVR. Anyway,
this time I heard Laura say something something
to Lulu about thinking that she was going to a
party where they were dressing up in old
Hollywood attire. So that’s why her hair and
dress were outdated.

: I think you were referring to Jamey Giddens
: from Daytime Confidential unless James
: Giddey is a different person. He hates
: FV.It's very rare indeed for an EP to up and
: fire an icon knowing full well of the
: consequences unless he had permission to go
: ahead from the higher ups. FV seems to be
: everyone's darling on the set there at GH so
: something is amiss somewhere. A decision
: like this had to be on the burner somewhere
: and they just decided to cut to it and
: suffer the backlash..otherwise, there would
: be none of this dropping Genie like a rock
: with writers left in the lurch scrambling to
: rewrite a story which seemingly was written
: for Genie. I think someone higher up than
: Frank didn't see Genie as necessary and was
: willing to cut to the quick. They know she
: has a fanbase but like Jane Elliott said in
: her interview with Frank, the Veteran's
: audience is not who they care about. They
: are willing to lose Veteran viewers because
: they think we can't change our views on
: advertising products. It's all about the
: Dollars. Maybe Genie being associated with
: Nutrisystem weight loss isn't the audience
: they want to have. There is a reason
: somewhere behind this cutting Genie off
: this suddenly. It may be sudden for us, but
: I think they saw it as cutting excess
: baggage and Boom, Genie is out. I think it
: was on someones agenda long before this
: sudden action.

: I think there is definitely still time.
: Genie’s
: agent released a statement verifying that
: she wants to be on contract and she was
: totally blindsided by this decision. Not
: sure
: of his exact words, but the link is on the
: board in a post. I think it was in
: Entertainment Weekly.
:
: James Giddey indicated that Frank does
: stuff like this on a whim without a good
: reason.
:
: There’s certainly no indication that Genie
: or any veteran holds up production. Seems
: like it would be just the opposite.
:
:
: Would Genie even want to do it? I guess
: that depends on what the plans were for
: Laura, the commitment, her personal
: situation at that time. It also would
: depend on why they let her go in the first
: place. Was it a budget problem or something
: else? Lots of people move on when contract
: talks stall, but it isn't done with the kind
: of brutality and surprise that Genie just
: endured.
:
: It got me to thinking. Why would Genie have
: so much difficulty with FV? Why would she
: have had problems with JFP? Aside from
: contract negotiations. an EP has the prime
: responsibility to keep production moving.
: Anyone who throws a snag into the wheels is
: a problem. They operate at warp speed over
: there. There is no rehearsal to speak of.
: You get a call to come to the set, you zoom
: up there, shoot your scene, and you're done.
: Someone who requires more attention (hair,
: make-up, wardrobe, etc) could be perceived
: as a problem. It could be something as
: simple as that. So, maybe a new EP who
: would be more tolerant would be able to
: handle that if it were a problem. I don't
: know anything about Genie's situation. It
: just seems so strange that an EP would fire
: a star without any justification, throw his
: writers into a tizzy, and alienate a huge
: fanbase.
