I don't understand FV. I never did. The whole way he handled the merging of talent from OLTL without having the rights to the characters was inept and expensive for ABC. He seems to have his favorites on the show, and inspire of what others have thought, I don't think he respects the history of GH. I think he has ruined casting on the show. GH had a Emmy-winning director of casting in Mark Teschner. It is obvious that FV is meddling because casting has been abysmal. He has brought on too many actors from other shows hoping to rope in their fans. That talent is expensive, and, as we have seen, actors who are successful in one role don't necessarily become successful in another on a different show. The casting and re-casting of actors at GH has been an horrendous failure.
It's almost a year of not watching GH for me. I miss it, but I really don't care for enough for the characters to put this show into my schedule. It is just too aggravating. Before this happened, you all were saying that the writing had improved. Storytelling was the great strength of GH. I really do think that it is time for ABC to bring on another EP. With or without Genie, GH needs a new vision and someone with more diplomatic skills. A person who can't manage the talent without causing an uproar should not be the EP of a soap. It seems that that is not in FV's skill set.

: FV could have handled the situation
: differently even if his end goal would have
: still been achieved. Often times we know
: when a actor is in talks and they're off
: screen for awhile. The actor doesn't return
: but its never really made public if the
: actor was pushed out or if the actor walked
: away.
:
: More respect could have been shown to Genie
: (and should have). FV had the discretion,
: the choice to treat Genie with respect and
: courtesy. He could have arranged a private
: meeting with Genie and then given her the
: option as to how to this plays out (publicly
: and with the her peers).
:
: There could and should have been a more
: dignified way to handle this and someone
: like Genie deserved to be treated
: respectfully and with extra care.
: Instead, she was treated badly and discarded
: shabbily.
:
: I don't understand why anyone in his
: position who had the choice to take the
: "high-road" doesn't. Bad business
: all the way around.
