: As I remember, he spun out every time she was
: not there for him. That makes some sense in
: terms of the fact that he was really a guy
: who lived on the dark side before he met
: her. I think it is so interesting that he
: idolized her...idealized her. He talks
: about her purity, but we knew that she had
: clay feet. She had accidentally killed
: David Hamilton, and she let her mother take
: the blame for it. She admits that to Scott.
: I had forgotten about that scene until
: Norman brought it back to us. But Luke is
: not deterred. He is obsessed with her. It
: doesn't matter that she was married to
: someone else, loves him. He is willing to
: take any little crumb that puts him in her
: sphere. He tells Ruby that it will be
: enough just to see her once in a while at
: the disco. It was really a story about
: obsession that turned into a love story.
:
: I think the hair is a good marker for Luke.
: When they permed the hair, they changed the
: character. It really is pretty remarkable
: that Tony was able to morph this character
: from a rather despicable mob wannabe to a
: hero and romantic lead. I can't think of
: anyone else who was able to do that so
: effectively. Some would argue that Maurice
: or Steve Burton were able to do that, but I
: would say, "Go watch Geary in action.
: They don't hold a candle to him."

: Was the other/evil nasty side of Luke
: operating the whole time or just after
: Laura's institutionalization? I can't
: remember what they said re Fluke? They re
: wrote the other sister, the ages, the death
: of parents, how Ruby got them.. everything
: we'd been told, everything Luke, Ruby and
: Bobbie told people for decades. When he was
: killing people, hitting on kiki, saying
: nasty things to children.. was that new or
: something Luke had always done but we didn't
: see? He told Laura in the Diner that she had
: kept him whole for years... I thought he
: meant that after she got sick is when he
: went evil crazy Fluke (& married to
: Tracy).

: Ohhh! This is fabulous. If you want to
: understand the magic of LnL, you only need
: to compare the Laura/Scott scene in this
: clip to the scene after the death of Duvall
: with LnL. The scenes and dialogue are very
: similar, and so is the emotion. Kin is a
: fine actor. But there is something about
: the way the Tony and genie listen to each
: other and react to each other that really
: tugs at your heart.
:
: Also, this Luke is the Luke that was...
: before he was transformed by love. He was
: nasty, angry, and a very far cry from the
: man he became. This part of the character
: never really left him, and you can see why
: Tony liked this edge. Can a person really
: be transformed by love? Maybe not, but
: perhaps that was part of Luke's appeal

: Here's another rarity I pulled from my
: Betamax
: archive. 2 hours of clips of
: Luke,Scotty,Laura,Lesley, Bobbie etc. And
: someone named Daniel J. Travanti as Spence.
: This would be near the end of the Lassa
: Fever story. I don't believe these have been
: posted on YT before. Enjoy!
