I agree with the poster who thinks Tony Geary made a deal and part of that deal was to keep Genie offscreen so his good buddy Jane Elliott (tracy) could remain in the forefront. I've said this time and again that one person with some clout is keeping Genie off the show even though her appearances bring the ratings up. GH is willing to lose ratings just to keep Tony Geary happy--Why? I don't know, this past 6 months he has a hate thread on almost every site. I once loved him now I can't stand the character or Tony G. I think Tony G's ego stands in the way of Genie's return. Just my suspicion but it seems to ring true if you read his interviews as of late. He forgot his popularity was because he was one half of a Supercouple.

: This view would fly with me a year or two
: ago, when Luke's story was becoming
: extremely marginalized, and shuffled off to
: the back burner. But Tony's a savvy man, and
: under this new contract he has gotten A LOT
: more relevant screentime, and story.
:
: Let's not forget, they gave Luke a new son
: in the early part of the year, made a big to
: do about rewritng L&L's history, and even
: brought back Emma Samms just for Tony's
: story. That was the biggest front burner,
: buzz worthy (negative buzz), story Luke's
: had in quite awhile.
:
: And since he's been back from vacation he's
: had the inkings of the Valentine story, JJ
: is back which I do believe was largely due
: to them wanting to resell Luke, and he's
: being thrust into the Lucky/Liz/Nik
: triangle, which is gearing up to be huge.
: And also, don't forget, the big
: Cassidine/Spencer story was suppose to be
: huge right now, but they pushed it back to
: speed up Claudia's ending. That is still
: lurking.
:
: Geary isn't going anywhere, if Geary has his
: say. He's made it clear that he has NO
: intention of retiring anytime soon. And it's
: very, very clear to me that when he
: negotiated his last contract, someone at the
: top made sure Luke wasn't going to stay the
: supporting character any longer.
