Regarding Guza's statements, what else is he going to say? There was a drop recently that Steven Nicols was "this" close to returning as Stefan, and the poster seemed legit. Did any rep from ABC make a comment on that? Nope, because the standard answer in this business is "no comment" or zero acknowledgement of future plans regarding casting. If they're thinking about asking an actor back, trying to deal with the logistics, or even currently in talks, you will never know unless a real insider puts themselves on the line to do so, or the network is ready to announce.
As far as the drop, there is what was posted, and below that is the response I wrote on SOC:
Genie is not returning. Not unless she's paid way more than they've offered
At this point, there are no negotiations for her and certainly not for VM (Brenda) who knows better
My response:
Nonsense. Genie has clarified time, and again, that money isn't the issue, it never was a decision in her leaving, nor has it played any part in her decision to return. She also has said, in print, that she knows the business is waining, and that everyone is being expected to take cuts, that's the message that they've been trying to clarify for all the expensive vets. If Genie's not back at GH, it's because someone at ABC does not want her back, regardless of money. Jill tried to pull that card years ago, and suggest money was an issue, and Genie quickly cleared that lie up.
It's a pivitol time, and the best we can do is call, write, mount the Angels campaign, and hope.
