Regarding Tony, imo...he is being phased out...or at best, only around/needed to react regarding the kids' lives. He made an appearance at that party...but had no real involvement. It was a throw-away scene and made me cringe...he's now in the same league as Tracy. Two dead characters...trotted out to make a passing comment or critique.
Unless Genie comes back and revitalizes Luke...this will be it for Tony. I'd rather he leave than go on with a drink, a pitiful, passionless marriage to that shrew...and nothing to do but hang around behind the bar.
