First off, I find it odd that today is the day to get incensed by Luke. For me today's Luke was the REAL Luke; he was more of a father to Lucky today than he's been in ages.
Luke got drunk with purpose this time; having stumbled upon a shocking sight, he's scared for his son, and scared for Liz. He wasn't just boozing up for the sake of it, which has been the case. JJ being back has changed the whole dynamic, and everything has more weight.
I also caught that too Sus. It's very interesting that Lucky would link Luke getting drunk to hearing from Laura, and doing it in such an automatic way. As though Lucky knows the absence of Laura in Luke's life is being masked by his heavy drinking...
