I keep thinking of Tony's own line at the 2007 Emmys: "Laura is Luke's humanity." At some level it must cut Tony to the core to know he has to keep playing a Luke that is not a complete person. He can utter all the nonsense he wants about moving on from Luke and Laura or whatever, but deep down, he KNOWS. Perhaps he enjoys working with JE and/or NP, but JE especially, drags him down. (I think you said that yesterday, Ginger, but it's so on target; I had to repeat it.) For us to see Luke's heart, we DO need Laura. Maybe they are bringing her up because they knew the audience would feel the hole seeing Luke and Lucky together with NO Laura. But I hope they do not think we will be satisfied with a few "Laura conversations". THAT would be a HUGE mistake on the part of TIIC.
Saddest part of all this?? I don't think Genie knows how VITAL she is to Tony; how without her, the Spencers will NEVER make sense. I think she's been dissed so many times by TPTB that she doesn't know what we all do--that she IS the HEART of General Hospital. I suppose that's why I'm especially pushing for the "Heart" campaign. Even if the idiots never "get it", Genie WILL hear the message and we will have done a good thing. Perhaps the others who shared time with her in Chicago had a different perspective, but I sensed she has no idea of her worth and importance to GH. And why would she with the way they've treated her???? We who love her can't make up for the lack of a contract with ABC, but I believe we DID and CAN AGAIN make enough noise to at least let her know how we feel. Sorry to have rambled, but I know I will watch the show today and feel even sadder, madder (who knows?) that Genie is not in her rightful place on GH. ***BIG SIGH***

: Yes, J. Tony played it like he wanted news
: about Laura...was dying inside a little with
: the idea that Lucky had news that put Luke
: out of the loop regarding her. The whole
: thing doesn't make much sense. He is aching
: for her...despairing, really. Yet he stays
: with Tracy in a situation that is not
: anything like what the real Luke would have
: wanted. You have to hand it to Tony to give
: this tripe any authenticity. It is obvious
: that Luke is miserable. Tony played Luke as
: distraught. He doesn't know how to parent
: Lucky through this. His solution is to
: drown in a bottle. Lucky told him that the
: Spencer genes were nothing to be proud of.
: That must have cut Luke to the core. Boy,
: do they need Genie!

: WOW - L&L???
: I'm watching live (practically ran home to
: do so, which I haven't done in a long time).
:
: ANOTHER long conversation about Laura. Lucky
: asks Luke if he heard from Laura, Luke, who
: is hung over from drinking because of what
: he saw between Nik/Liz, instantly perks up.
: He's worried, wonders if she called him, and
: why. Lucky clarifies that he called her, and
: that she's fine, and he called to talk about
: he and Liz. Luke wants to know what they
: talked about, and Lucky lets him know that's
: between he and his mom.
:
: Now get this...Luke was extremely
: inquisitive about Laura and appeared
: DISAPPOINTED that he wasn't in on what's
: going down with Laura. It was clear as day,
: Geary played the lines like he was desperate
: for news about Laura, and sad that he's been
: left out the loop. He was fishing for any
: news about Laura.
:
: I don't think I've seen Geary play this kind
: of "slow burn" regarding Laura
: since 2001. It really was like the old days,
: when L&L were on the outs, and Luke is
: pretending to play it cool, but is really
: burning for just a slice of Laura.
:
: Wow.
