As you know I savour every drop of info on them, so this detail just jumped out at me since there was no mention of illness with Anne in the previous installments. To demonstrate my lack of attention to detail on other characters, I have to be truthful and admit that I didn't even noticed that Elizabeth and Patrick had kissed in one of the installments last summer until I read the messages here. So that was a surprise. I had to reread that whole installment. Such a burden to bear.
