Hi Karen!
No, you're not the only reader, my dear.
It's the "dog days of summer," and Susan Kaye and I have been around long enough to know what happens in the world of on-line serialized fiction. The hottest, most sultry weather comes upon us, and the comments drop off. Either readers become accustomed to the regularity of weekly posts, or they have nothing new to say and don't wish to slap up a trite "Oooo! Post More Soon!," or they go on vacation.
I think it's the latter, probably because that's what I'm doing. I will be in California with my parents for the week of August 11th. So, I'm afraid you'll have to wait until the 18th to see what happens to Mary.
And hey, thanks for the idea! It didn't occur to me that Mary could collapse at Elizabeth's house and be forced to remain. Although, Elizabeth would long to pack her off to Anne's, wouldn't she? A silent, suffering Mary wouldn't be any trouble, but since when is Mary silent? If she were only moderately ill, she would certainly get in the way of Elizabeth's matchmaking plans. As for Patrick, well ... Patrick wouldn't care what anybody thought. He'd pack Mary off straightway!
