Patrick McGillvary tried to warn her (as George Kinghtley tried to warn Emma) but no, she must run ahead, certain that her brilliant plan would solve everything.
Experience is a thorough teacher, as McGillvary knows. Poor, poor Elizabeth. She will look before she leaps next time.
