Can we subtitle this section "Educating Walter"? Elizabeth's dear old dad has been needing some lessons for quite a while now, and it looks like MacGillvary is just the man to teach him! I'm not too worried about Sir Walter trying to decamp to Belsom -- despite the assurances that his creditors will not find him, all Patrick has to do is have a quiet word with the bailiffs, and there will be enough tradesmen dunning Sir Walter's doorstep that he won't dare set a toe outside.
Just hurry up and get Anne and Benwick off to the seaside so Sir Walter can't go to Chauntecleer, either! (Do they need anyone to house-sit while they're away? I'll volunteer!) ;-)
