I've got four or five pages left to write before I post tonight. Must-keep-writing. For me it's too much fun to be able to keep these characters and storyline alive, especially without the burden of maintaining a long, ever-deepening book. When Mercy's Embrace was "in production," it bothered me to leave readers hanging for most of the year. A series of self-contained summer "books" is easier on my mind!
So far as the upcoming publication is concerned (which is what I work on Tuesdays - Fridays), the publisher wants me to put Mercy's Embrace on a solid Jane Austen footing ... meaning Anne isn't married to James Benwick. (Wah!) However, I'm gamely trying to incorporate Yee into the mix. The paper-published Mercy's Embrace (estimated to be two books at this point) won't be the same as the beloved on-line version, but I'm hoping it will be a good read.
