I simply have to speculate on what is contained in the blue velvet box the Admiral brings out at the ball. Here are the possiblities I've come up with:
1. A ring that the Admiral was planning on proposing with.
2. The brooch she gave to Ronan (not that likely).
3. The brooch she gave to Ronan reset with real stones.
4. A brooch to replace the one she gave to Ronan.
5. A set of jewelry picked out as an engagement present to Elizabeth.
