I think Sir Walter would crumple under the stress of performance anxiety. Better to enjoy the Widow's company at a distance, and avail himself of Amanda's remains of beauty to keep him looking good! While I am certain that Sir Walter is quite assinine enough to do something so despicable, I think he is also a man who understands the secret to looking beautiful is to hang with those who are not quite as lovely as yourself.
