Posted by Laura Louise She's a problem, that girl is. Will she decide to surrender to the longings of her heart and give Patrick McGillvary another chance? Or will she revert to her pragmatic, heard-headed ways and give that second chance to her cousin? I wish I knew! Let me tell you, that girl is something else to write! This is what I mean when I say ME is a character-driven story. Of course, now that I think on it, "Isn't it romantic?" also applies to Charles Musgrove. And Lady Russell. What do you suppose they'll each answer? While you're waiting for Tuesday night, here's a lovely, romantic painting to enjoy (The Proposal by F Sydney Muschamp). Patrick and Elizabeth at the end of ME? Perhaps. Link: I can write a sweet, romantic scene ... for Anne in LSL

... not one. Because, unfortunately, the woman involved is Elizabeth Elliot. "Isn't it romantic?" Our Elizabeth very well might answer with a resounding, "NO!"
