I kept thinking how Ronan would get out of that room and all I could think of was situation comedy routines of knocking over lamps and having the maid yell for him. Of course Ronan would be more sauve than that. And of course Mary would misunderstand. This not in YOUR league of course but not bad for a 1st try:
"Why do you heistate?" Mary asked. Ronan thought fast "I'm not feeling well. The fault of my brute of brother no doubt but his valet keeps powders for headaches, so I will retire to my room for the evening."
Ronan bowed and started to leave the room. "With your permission."
Mary frowned then understanding lit her eyes, "I see. I undersand about headaches. I will check on you later to how you are feeling. "
As Ronan left, he groaned "Now what am I to do?"
