Well, I suppose this is not the place to air the family linen, but as Ronan's "mom" I can't support this nonsensical, though convenient plot resolution of my boy and Mary Musgrove making a break for Gretna Green.
I think of all Austen's characters, MM's maundering and malingering have the power to suck the life out of even the most ridiculous and highblown goof I've ever created.
No, rid yourself of Mary however you choose. Pair Ronan with another female goof, but I beg you don't shackle the two of them together in this piteous, fatiguing, whining hell.
