Posted by Petra Hochstenbach 6 armed men kill Lebanese contractor in Sierra Leone By Jessy Chahine Raed Nasser, 36, an architect, was sleeping at his home in Sierra Leone early on Sunday morning when six armed men forced their way into his house and shot him. The victim was a contractor and had handled projects linked to the American Embassy in Sierra Leone for over two years. Sources said that Nasser did not have any "enemies." Official authorities in Sierra Leone began an investigation and have already arrested a number of suspects. Nasser's family in Lebanon contacted the authorities in Sierra Leone through the Lebanese Embassy there. The Foreign Affairs Ministry assisted Nasser's family in finding out the circumstances of the crime. Nasser's body was transferred to Lebanon, and then transported to Deir Qoubel, the victim's home village in Mount Lebanon. "Justice has to prevail," said Hala, Nasser's sister. "The Lebanese government should conduct the necessary investigation in order to find out who was behind this horrible crime." "The government should pay attention to its citizens whether they were in or outside the country," she added.
