Love of music is one of the great things I learned in Liberia. We used to play records when babysitting for people. I remember "Bridge over troubled waters" and "Cecilia" with Simon and Garfunkle, "Rock me gently", "I can see clearly now", "Love Hurts", "Seasons in the Sun" and of course ABBA. But also music classes with Mr David Hill, Christmas carrols, especially when a mens choir from the highschool in Buchanan came to our houses on Christmas Eve, and Afro pop. Finally I remember the rythm - of children playing KA in the schoolyard, of "Oma Bega", and the rythmic sound of the waves on the beach - music is so much, and I feel greatful!
