Posted by Librarian on 4/2/2002, 2:04 pm It would be exceedingly productive to e-mail your state epidemiologist, report the incidence of Elliot's Disease in your household and ask them to report this disease to the CDC. You can even use the letter from the letter campaign, so long as you urge the person to report this directly to the CDC as you consider the disease contagious. The logic behind this is that the NIH-ORD cannot do anything until a paper is published; however if the disease is of a contagious or communicable nature, the CDC should act. Yet another blockade is that the CDC will not act on their own, but should respond with sufficient reports from state epidemiologists. Link: http://www.cste.org/members/state_and_territorial_epi.asp
