The following link is to an on-line case history of a Romanian woman who was diagnosed with an infestation of collembola. It presents interesting pictures of both the organism(s) and the effect on the skin. Please note that springtails have neither a larval nor pupal stage and that these images are erroneously identified as collembola. According to Dr. Elizabeth Walsh (via e-mail) the larval image is possibly a bdelloid rotifer.
