Good old WNEW ch. 5 NYC had some of the greatest kiddy shows including Soupy's show. Even Spring Valley high schoolers were avid watchers. The fun and innocence in our youth, PRICELESS. I was sooooo happy when PeeWee Herman came on the air. My kids plus their parental units loved the show. Now Soupy is gone. Duck!! Watch out for that pie!!!!!! Soupy, you were the greatest. He had a local lunchtime show on WXYZ-TV : (ABC) : for kids in the 50s that was whacky. He also had a local night time show 11:15PM : where he did skits AND had many jazz super stars as guests. In fact when Ken Burns : did his Jazz documentary he used kinescopes and tapes from the old Soupy show : because NOBODY had any footage of these cats.
