Regarding "Up and In", yes, Dave did a cut of "Scotch and Soda", in a bluesy fashion. I don't know if it was the style he tried to sell Voyle Gilmore in the studio. Dave thought he had the definitive version in 1957, but Bob's easily took the song to its greatest heights.
I was referring to whether he ever covered a Stewart Trio song. At the height of their mutual disregard, Dave off-handedly expressed his not being interested in the Trio's music or hits after he left. After 1967, he gladly worked in the studio with John on adding a dimension to his original work.
