I wasn't trying to be critical of our Canadian Defense Forces.
Why would I ??? I'm Canadian. And I know we're good people and we
would definitely help our allies, without question or pause.
I would expect nothing less.
The movie "THANK YOU FOR YOU SERVICE" dealt with AMERICAN SOLDIERS
returning home from Iraq. My focus was on what these particular
VETERANS had to go through. It is a subject not often talked about
or thought about. That's ALL I was trying to say.
I was NOT trying to be critical or negative. I am sorry if I gave that impression.
It was not intentional, I promise !!!
You know, after 9/11, Canadian Newspapers throughout many of our Cities,
received thousands of letters from grateful Americans who thanked
us for "opening the skies" and finding landing space for ALL U.S. FLIGHTS...
since they seemed to be under attack.
All American passengers knew they were SAFE once they reached CANADA.
It's what we Canadians do, Steve. We make Americans feel welcome.
Why would I be critical of my own people ???
: Well, how about the song, “A Pittance of Time”, by Canadian Terry Kelly. A wonderful
: tribute to veterans, and something that should be sung for those who just think of
: holidays like Memorial Day or Veterans Day as a shopping opportunity. And, by the
: way, as an American who had some contact with members of the Canadian Defense Forces
: over the years, I can say that our wonderful allies to the north do their share.
