Fascinating introduction. Does it say why Joan and Nick parted? From what I gather, and I'll admit it's merely inference, Nick kept the children with him in Oregon and the kids preferred it that way. Was this a separation in the sense of a separation while parties got their legal ducks in a row?* My impression is, marital fidelity was not a strong suit during the 1957-67 touring years. At some point, Linda suggests she had no idea of who Nick Reynolds was, while she was a flower child/waitress at the Trident.
*Interesting observation that Joan Reynolds and Gretchen Guard represented their deceased ex-husbands when the Kingston Trio was recognized for some Lifetime achievement award, along with Bob Shane and Buffy Stewart.
