The initial report says (most likely) Mike found out; "Gary was booking gigs for Grove, Zorn and Dougherty to perform as The Kingston Trio." Well....that could've just been a snafu on the part of the kingstontrio.com webmasters. I'm thinking that maybe they didn't have the web domain cleared away yet, and this was a roundabout way to "get" it through force.
It was only after the lawsuit was filed that the disclaimer, and Bob's announcement, was put on the official website. It was either oversight by the Shane's or Mike making a statement of that since the website isn't stating any kind of take-over, than those are the new group's gigs....right??? Does anyone even know what booking agent the new group is going to use??
It'll be sad, but interesting to see how this all falls apart.
: That lawsuit should never have been filed. Its only value, as far as I can tell, was
: to serve as scare tactics against George, Bill and Rick - but they aren't the real
: parties in interest here.
: The fact that everything was resolved within a couple of days is the proof of the
: pudding. But, the complaint, with all its nasty allegations, is still out there as a
: matter of public record for everyone to see. Yes, the lawyers certainty helped shape
: the words and phrases, but the underlying animosity comes through loud and clear.
: And it's not the type of case where the record should be sealed, so that complaint
: will sit out there on the books forever.
: Just a bad decision all the way.
