Your mention of memories is coincidental as just this morning I had sent to a group of 9 of my high school friends a monthly email which I call The Monthly Music Memory. The email consists of normally 3 songs from our 4 years at Egan with some sort of theme tying them together. This month's theme was 3 songs by groups whose name began with the letter "D" - The Dubs, The Drifters and The Demensions. Other themes have included the top 3 songs from the 1st and last week of each of our 4 years of HS. And to think that I bristle when my wife says I have too much time on my hands.
: Lary: Thanks for the memories---the summer of '61 was notable for the music you
: included by also because I had finally finished 8 long years of Catholic grade
: school and was finally becoming a "grown up high schooler"! I went out
: and bought this record and still have the 45 RPM copy. Also, got to listen to
: Michael all summer on the boardwalk in Wildwood----where'd the time go???.....Joe P

: It was 56 years ago this week that Michael , performed by the Wesleyan Univ. folk
: quintet, The Highwaymen, entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The song
: charted for 17 weeks, eventually reaching #1 for 2 weeks. The B-side was their
: version of a song [and spelling] which was on the KT's 1st LP - Santiano .
: There were no other folk-type singles on the chart that week.
