Mine began when I saw the N/B/J trio at Union College and RPI in the early 60's. I'm wondering if anyone in Friday's audience also attended either or both of those two shows.
Also, The Trio usually had two types of shows. One was the rather tame, but still very professional and enjoyable, concert that we enjoyed on Friday with lots of sing-a-longs. The other was the lounge/bar act that was a little more rowdy and for me a little more fun. As Bob Shane usually said: "we're just three guys having fun on stage". The three shows that I recall seeing in the bar concept were at Lenny's on the Turnpike (Boston); the Parting Glass (Saratoga) and a rodeo/western-themed bar about 50 miles east of Indianapolis (can someone help me out here?)
Just some thought starters to begin the day.
: Amy and I saw the Trio at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall tonight in Troy, New York.
: Also in attendance were Evan and Linda Hendricks and Chuck Oakes, longtime fans and
: past (and future) Bloodliners. The performances were, as always, crisp and well
: received. (This sounds dull, I know. Forgive me. I'm tired.)
: I'm posting approximate set lists. I think I have all the songs in the appropriate
: sets, but I can't vouch for correct order:
: Set 1:
: Youíre Gonna Miss Me
: Tijuana Jail
: Early Morning Rain
: Much Better View of the Moon
: Greenback Dollar
: Three Jolly Coachmen
: Song about the River
: To Morrow
: Zombie Jamboree
: Set 2:
: Hard, Ainít It Hard
: Born at the Right Time
: Tom Dooley
: Scotch and Soda
: Reuben James
: All of the Hard Days Are Gone
: Road to Freedom
: Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
: Evan, Linda and I shall also be in attendance in Peekskill NY on Sunday. Will
: anyone else be there?
