Thanks Carl. From what I see, those necks on eBay look fairly decent. I get a pretty much daily email from Elderly Instruments with all their latest used and new instruments. Today's had a circa 1930 Vega tenor banjo with a Tubaphone tone ring for $825. I would think that and a $150 long neck put together by someone who knew what they were doing could be a pretty sweet instrument on the cheap!
