If the 2 Martins and the Vega (it's not really a Vega, but a Deering) are a matched set - same number for all - then you may have something valuable. I suggest that you get an independent appraisal from a reputable source such as Gruhn Guitars in Nashville and then plan your course of action from there. Don't be in a hurry to liquidate this set, and PLEASE don't piece it out.
: Hi Everyone,
: My father passed away recently, leaving me with a large collection of Kingston Trio
: vinyl. He had about seven copies of everything the Trio ever did. Do you have
: suggestions for the best and simplest ways to resell these items other than listing
: them on eBay or Discogs? I don't want to spend the next year of my life doing this.
: Also, do you know of any record dealers that would be interested? Local record
: dealers that I have approached have literally laughed at me.
: I additionally have one Dave Guard limited edition Martin Guitar (#56/100) along
: with a set of two Martins and a Vega Banjo, also from a Kingston Trio limited
: edition of 100, all signed by John, Bob and Nick. The store where my dad purchased
: these has gone out of business and can't help me resell them. I'm wondering if any
: of you know of someone who deals in these items specifically or if there is someone
: you know who could appraise them for me?
: Thank you
