Aloha! One thing I've noticed recently around my house is that the annoying banjo music hasn't bothered me for quite awhile. I got to thinking about that and realized that my banjo is still quietly resting on Greg Deering's work bench for long enough.
I called Greg and bribed he and his wife with lunch today in exchange for me picking up my baby. The food was good and wow, what a difference in one instrument's playability. Is that a word? Anyway, it's awesome! Thank you Greg!
But that's not what I came to tell ya. It seems that George sent his new shortie long neck back for some minor adjustments and I had the oppertunity to really put an eyeball to the inlay work on that neck. It really is something and showcases what's possible with these computer driven machines. To me, the most amazing part of it were the autographs of all the previous and current members. Inlay so fine and delicate that it makes you ask, how did they do it? Thanks for sending it back George so I could have such a close look. Of course Greg and Janet were right there to make sure it didn't wind up in my case by accident! One other nice thing about the one less fret. It makes more room around the peg head in the case! aloha, mikey
