Bob's banjo and the Trio

After seeing the Trio seven rimes after the NBJ version, I don't recall Bob playing the banjo in any of those configurations. Did he give it up after NBJ or did I miss the concerts where he played it? I thought his style was phenomenal, especially in the song "Comin' From The Mountains" on the Close-Up album.
