...Google Books is merely a cataloguing of old books, i.e, scanning them in from cover to last page-? This seems like a good thing, or should I say, I can't conceive of how this would be controversial, in the least, insofar as books in the public domain go--which, from the link, it seems that a goodly portion are in the public domain. I'd expect them ALL to be: No controversy there.
So, I must assume that Google Books is going ahead and scanning/cataloguing Books that still have copyrights? That doesn't seem "controversial" to me, but rather, simply illegal. Is that the core issue, here?
