Inglorious Basterds could easily be interpreted as an anti-semitic movie.
In effect, it turns Jews into Nazis and humanizes the Nazi characters. How much character development took place for any of the Basterds, vs. some of the Nazi characters? The Basterds as portrayed are glorified war criminals, psychopaths. And let's not forget that Landa's mercy for Shosanna at the start of the movie is part of what ensures the demise of the Third Reich.
The guy whose skull the Bear Jew caved? He comported himself with dignity to the last moment. So did Landa and many of the other Nazis.
And the propaganda movie shown to the Nazis was essentially their Inglorious Basterds, a glorification of sadistic violence against an other perceived as less than human.
