One of the best things about flying was the lack of obsticals you ran into. The large black wolf squinted down against the cold wind, icy blue eyes searching for a red dot on the whtie terrain. It was a good thing his mate was such an easy fem to spot. Black Rain felt small paws on the back of his neck and from the corner of his eye caught the red feather of his son's matching necklace dancing in the wind. "Dad, are we really in trouble?" Vendetta's voice, though young, was genuinely concerned.
The black brute smirked and resisted chuckling, knowing if he shook his body too much the pup might lose footing. "No, V," Black Rain replied, eyes still searching below. He felt the pup's body sag in a sigh of relief. "But there's no sense in being unprepared. If we're smart, we can handle anything that comes our way. Just gotta put our minds to it." Below, through the fog of low hanging clouds, two red dots dancing in the snow. "Hang on, Kid." The wolf folded back his black raven's wings, sheltering the pup as he made a nose dive for the ground. At the last second, the brute spread his wings again, giving a few flaps to slow him down as his large paws touched the snow.
Vendetta jumped down from his father's back, shaking out his black, red, and white fur with a quick motion. "Mom!" he called, sprinting for the wolfess with his tail waving high in the air. However, the little brute's icy blue eyes caught sight of his brother and he changed his course slightly. "Rain!" the pup's voice changed to a bright and playful tone as he leaped at his red and sandy tan brother, jaws quite closed. It was their formal greeting, after all.
The large black brute chuckled, shakingout his wind slicked coat. The red feather that hung at his chest fluttered back into place slowly as he waked the short distance to the red wolfess, smile on his face. "Well howdy, Love," Black Rain said, giving the fem a long lick up her neck and cheek. "Have I got some news for you!" It was obvious by his tone that the news was serious, though obviously amusing in some way.
