Orchid was the silent one...choosing not to voice her opinions or questions. She was disgusted no one could change that and no amount of talking or reasoning would. She turned to CF at his comment, "I have to be here at least a little while longer." Afterwards she returned her attention to the crowd gathering and all the young ones who had to come with parents...all of the lovers interrupted by a cowardly move, including her own nephew.
Orchid listened to their questions, all valid and justified in a way. Members of the pack and allowed to question why they are being called. But when Lucky wanted to voice his disapproval of them asking whatever questions they wanted to ask, that was where she drew the line. Orchid rose sloly from where she had been laying. Her muscles ached as well they should she'd only given birth a few hours ago. She was still bleeding and of course there was the protruding belly and it's contents. She grunted a bit as she rose and refused help from anyone. Her voice low and silky as it has always been, it would require quiet to hear. I sang threw all the wind and landed where it belonged, "Well Lucky since you seem so hell bent on defending your father let me ask you this. Did he ask the pack or tell anyone at all before he took you into the human lands? I don't even recall asking us how we would feel with Lucien as Beta, such a decision is big...yes? I don't remember him even caring how much we all hurt when FR died, simply pushed the blame from himself. He may have hurt, we don't know we didn't get to see that, I was always told Death is not a fate, it is a consequence of bad choices and the creature that paid for the bad choice of Seg was FR, Where is that fair? I chose to remain silent because I feel that in the best interest of a pack the Alpha should know when to call and when not to. I feel if he has called them for their opinions they they will be heard, I am sure of it and no mouthy little abandoned wolf pup is going to stop that. I was made Alphess for one reason but I have been much acting as one, I don't really feel like one. But If there is one thing I know from my mother is it is my responsibility those who were asked to speak are heard, He is hearing what he has asked of them and weather or not he can take what they say they will all be heard. Lucky your best bet is to let whatever happens happen, weather that is leaving with your squirrel friend or not." Yes she had heard him, she had heard them all she was uninterested not deaf. She did not care if he left or if anyone had left after being left in a den of newborns with no food or warmth so that Seg can go run off with Lucky and make bad choices and FR was the one to pay the price for it she was done with caring where it was not needed.
"I made my choices and deal with what has come from them each day, I take responsibility and I do not leave it for someone else to pay my debt. These wolves have all lost someone important to them", She looked at all of FR's children and grand children and realized many of the females look like her and her sons like CF, she same famly thing that carries in Cealia and Tulip that will carry on in the years to come as more is made and more is produced there will be no hiding it, "I believe they make valid points weather it be rational or not, weather if they said it rudely or not it's all still valid."
She finally turned away from Lucky and to Seg, "And Seg I think that you have not been behaving as a good Leader should lately. Your choices have been dreadful for everyone, not just you, so have mine but mostly those were on me I was able to save 2 lives that day. I also think it is cowardly to back away from a challenge no matter the circumstances. I am disappointed because you felt you needed the approval of the group to do it. I am disgusted because of how I was brought up, this resembles nothing of what I've been taught. If you step down you lose more than your pack, You should fight lose with dignity or win with pride." Orchid turned towards CF, "I am ready to go back, I no longer want to see this." and she left the crowd back to HER den, she built it with sweat and tears and love. "Cealia won't be coming I won't let her!." she yelled back in case Seg thought Cealia would be running up later.
