"You all Seem to think of your Alpha is a coward for asking your opinions," Lucky snapped at the assembled members, "It seems to me to be a simple question followed by a simple decision. Do you want Seg to remain Alpha and defend his position, or do you wish his so-called brother to defeat him, replace him and lead you. I dont believe any of you understand the reason he is doing this. He trusts you all to make the right decision."
Lucky was pacing the semi-circle behind Segs half of the field. Rakketty was on his shoulder, quite agitated. Lucky couldn't believe the pack was questioning this. As far as he knew Seg had always asked the pack their opinions on major decisions regarding the Pack. A change in leadership would qualify.
Rakketty was quite unhappy. He had finally found a place worth his time in protecting and the one being responsible for that quite possibly might not be around much longer. He made his decision.
He reached up and grabbed Luckys right ear, Turning it so he could talk real low and the black wolf would still hear,
"If this goes bad for Seg, im leaving, I wont try and guilt you into leaving with me."
Luckys green-gold eyes sparkled at his little friends words. For him the decision was harder. His sister would be arriving in the next few months and to leave would be to miss her. They could back track Luckys old trek to his old home and collect her.
"Your right, of course, Ice Pack would not be the same without Seg. Whether Black Rain would allow him to stay in Ice or not. I shall go with you. But we would have to collect my sister first," He replied. Lucky realized his voice may have risen above the din, He wondered if he had been heard. The nearest wolf was Orchid, but she may have been to preoccupied to hear what they were discussing. He decided to act as if nothing would happen that they could go back to living thier lives like normal. If things went bad, they would move decisively and explain it all before they left.
Lucky continued to pace, Rakketty on his shoulder.
