The pair of felines weren't quite sure what to make of the scene. But now, it seemed Seg wanted to speak with everyone, and by the sound of it, speak with them about what to do with his position. They both knew that it was normal for an alpha to defend now, and ask later. and so, Tyheam was going to voice that immediately, "Surely, Seg, you would defend the pack. Whether everyone agrees on either option, the choice is ultimately yours. The challenge was made, it is your duty to honor that call."
Lucien looked more relieved than anything first, given he no longer was to deal with the responsibility of being beta. Such a thing wasn't in his nature, not something that fit him. However following that, the snow leopard nodded in agreement with his brother.
Saiyan on the other paw, was not so pleased. Seg might have recognized her, but she did not leave as abruptly as he was making it seem. The white fae echoed his snort, more out of sheer disgust. She was an alpha once, of a different pack before even her time at Ice. In retrospect, it was all a very long time ago. The wolf spoke, her voice suddenly in the icy tone she had long since avoided, "I assure you, I did not leave because I wanted to, and I served in my position for a time before it happen. And you seem as if you wonder why I'm here." She paused briefly, not going to give anyone the time to speak while she was, "I can see your question in your eyes. This old wolf isn't stupid and can easily read everyone. All I intended was to visit an old home, and this is what I came upon."
Again, Saiyan paused, her gaze had shifted to the silent Orchid. The wolfess noted the reaction, nodding slightly to herself before continuing, "And why are you calling your pack to you? Only the alpha chooses to do battle or step down. Only the alpha. I suggest you answer the call, or be looked upon as a coward." Maybe the old wolf was being harsh, but she was telling the truth. By calling the pack to make his decision, Saiyan believed Seg to be a coward, and not the young wolf she'd met all those years ago. She might be the only one to think it, but one was enough to mark you for life. At least if he stepped down by his own choice or lost, he would still have his dignity.
