The large black wolf stood very still as the small gathering formed, icy eyes focusing solely on Seg until he was approached by Orchid. He gave the wolfess a gentle smile, touching her cheek with his nose and giving his tail a flip. "It's nice to see you Orchid," he took a step back to servey the fem for a brief moment. "You're looking a bit better than the last time I saw you." Cross Fire caught his attention. Black Rain hadn't been expecting the brute to be present when he returned home, but it didn't dampen his spirits. In fact, in some strange way, the older wolf set of a fiery feeling in the middle of the black wolf's chest. He gave the red brute a small nod, same for Sen, then his pale blue eyes came to rest on Lucky. There was no sense of malice, no reason for any of them to believe that he might have lost his mind.
"My sanity is quite intact," Black Rain spoke in a serious tone, icy blue eyes meeting the sage of the smaller black wolf in front of him once more. Again there was no hint to a cancerous rage, only a cool calm sincerity as he responded. "I never thought you killed Flaming Rose," he said with a slight interested tilt to his head. "However, I do believe the consequence came because of a very bad choice on your part. A few bad choices really." The brute's eyes flicked to Orchid, surely she'd know what he was speaking of if not agree. "Seg, I'm not going to repeat myself. I thinks its time you step down as Alpha. You're losing your touch and making rather unintelligent decisions. You have a choice to make right now, either put the pack in my care willingly or fight to keep your title."
The large black wolf's gaze remained fixed on the smaller brute before him. Knowing Sen, Orchid, and Cross Fire; they knew enough to be shadows. Lucky was still young, but he hoped the pup had enough sense to keep to himself. Black Rain waited patiently to see which path Seg chose, expression remaining placid.
