It came to her that she realized she had never tried flying also, but she was too embarrassed to let Dray know that. Flying was such a speedy process, she preferred to walk and look at the flowers, watch then bloom ... Malinke shook her head to get rid of the daydream. She gave Dray a nervous smile and extended her wings. They were clean, new, and not yet tattered by wind. She pulled herself in the air and gasped by the ease that it took to lift her body off the ground. Malinke grabbed hold of Dray's tail, afraid to fall by herself. She nodded to let him know she was ready.
