For awhile Malinke had to think about the question. Crepuscule had always been pretty nice--anyone else could have been meaner. However, because of Malinke's trusting nature, she never saw the mastery Crepuscule had over her. All she saw in people were good things, but whenever she saw the wolf who raised her Malinke's judgment was blurred. She was oblivious to his schemes and acting because she had no introduction to evil. Eventually, unless she finally gained the power to see through the fog, Crepuscule could possible hurt her.
"He's ... not mean," was all the dragon could say. There was nothing she could do either to protect or harm Crepuscule. It was as if the two never got to know each other since her hatching.
