Laurie if you will review TV Flicka's page here as well as elsewhere you will see that Flicka was bred to a Quarter Horse (for what reason I fail to understand). If you're going to make speculation regarding the inaccuracies of the 'official' AHA records please provide objective evidence of such. Sadly much of the equine industry is raft with hearsay and innuendo which is not acceptable. I was the one that contacted AHA and the paper records were accessed to provide the information I obtained. As much as I mistrust most human institutions I will take the official records of AHA over unsubstantiated hearsay. There is absolutely NO record of Ralph McCutcheon ever being Flicka's owner. In fact in 1961 and 1962 when her first two foals were born her owner was Patricia Ann Eaves. Lacking objective evidence otherwise, it is likely that she was 'leased' from Eaves by Fox for the production of the series...
