As of August 29th 2009, there are new potential sellers on the Internet offering a homemade DVD of the full-color, 73-minute presentation of SNOWFIRE (1958):
"espencer58" offers the homemade DVD-R disc at http://http://www.sell.com/242DDJ for $5.00 plus $3.00 U.S. shipping. (Worldwide shipping available)
A new seller, "MovieLead", has the disc at: http://www.zipzip.tv/zip/snowfire.htm The price and shipping terms aren't shown. (If someone orders from MovieLead, please share the details with this board.)
A couple of different vendors also offer the DVD on eBay from time to time at various prices.
The source for the DVD-R disc is a VHS tape recorded from a late night TV broadcast on Los Angeles TV "KABC-TV7" in the 1980s, so the image quality is the same as a VHS tape. However, you may be pleasantly surprised how good the movie looks. I give it at least a "B" grade or an "8 out of 10".
Don't pay more for the DVD expecting to get better quality. The homemade discs are coming from the same video source.
