I'm doing some family history research for neighbors and found out that one of their ancestors, William Pagel, was co-founder of Silvercup Bread in Detroit. Silvercup was one of the first sponsors -- some say THE first sponsor -- of the radio version of "The Lone Ranger." So they named the horse after the bread.
