That includes donkey, mule, & zebra in the spotlight too!

Buddy Sherwood was my (for real) Uncle Buddy. Married to my (Mother's sister) Evelyn. About the best Uncle a kid could ever want. A visit to Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Buddy's house was most fun. Here's what their daughter (my cousin) recalls:
Ralph McCutcheon and Hudkins Brothers (and Glenn Randall, and Fat Jones, and others) were suppliers of livestock and equipment to movie producers. McCutcheon had a stable on Parthenia in the Van Nuys/Panorama City/Reseda (??) area of the Valley.
I don't associate Crash Corrigan with Trigger, but it's possible. Old Trigger, the gorgeous stallion that was later stuffed and displayed at Roy Rogers Museum (how disrespectful!) was owned by Roy Rogers - I thought he was either bought or given to Roy by Glenn, but I'm not certain of that. Old Trigger lived at Glenn Randall's stables. Glenn actually owned the other Triggers, like Little Trigger and Trigger Junior, and he also owned the "Roy Rogers Liberty Act". Glenn was officially Roy Rogers' horse trainer.
My dad got the great majority of his "calls" from Hudkins. On the rare occasion that Hudkins had no work, he sometimes picked up a call out of Randall's, McCutcheon's or Fat Jones' stables. I barely remember Johnny Goodwin, but I think his work routine was similar.
Then, after cousin read Nick P's response, she noted:
McCutcheon's place described by Nick P. is exactly what I remember. I don't recall what Ralph looked like, but I recall a story my father told about Ralph's well-trained Rottweiler named "Rote":
The belief was: anyone could get onto a studio lot by simply driving through the security gate while waving at the guard. Ralph trained Rote to sit behind the wheel of his pickup truck and waive while Ralph crouched out of sight. According to the story, early one morning, the bewildered guard waved back as Rote drove through the studio gate!
Fun days!
