I have heard the name Ralph McCutcheon and Hudkins Stables mentioned together many times. Did McCutcheon have his own stable or was he just a trainer? I know that Hudkins (Ace Hudkins) Stables leased most of the horses to the studios along with equipment. That is where Roy Rogers bought Trigger for $2500. Crash Corrigan told the story for years that Roy had bought Trigger from him. I also would like to know if Buddy Sherwood or Johnny Goodwin, two wranglers who worked on a lot of westerns, worked for Hudkins Stables.
